A successful lottery bid has provided an opportunity for Communigrow to develop increased therapeutic gardening services through the appointment of a Therapeutic Gardener to join our horticulture team.

Role Specifics
Designing and delivering new targeted projects that support the mental and physical wellbeing of beneficiaries (onsite and in the community)
Maintaining and building on our existing 'Time Out' Veterans & Emergency Services group and our 'Garden Gate' Bereavement Support Group
Expanding Communigrow's green therapy provision to additional individuals who have self-referred or have been signposted by another agency or a social prescriber
Identifying new partners and cohorts with the aim of increasing the number of individuals who benefit from our projects (and creating new projects)
Provide greater opportunities for volunteers in therapeutic gardening & related activities.
Managing relationships with the partnerships, agencies and social prescribers that promote and support the development of the Therapeutic Gardening services.
Timely recording & reporting outcomes, maintaining accurate records, completing admin tasks as required.
Person Specification
Some experience of working with people with additional needs
Knowledge of/or interest in horticultural therapy/ gardening
Empathy, adaptability, and strong communication skills
A proactive, organised approach to planning and reporting
Good IT and administration skills
Knowledge and experience of gardening/growing food
Practical skills (DIY) to support garden maintenance projects
Interest and awareness of environmental and sustainability matters
Effective communication skills that build positive relationships
Willing to increase knowledge of Therapeutic Gardening through learning opportunities.
Job Type: Part-time
