Working under Executive Chef Matthew Briddon (who teaches at Cordon Bleu cookery school in London too, by invitation) we are seeking a passionate and driven individual to train as a Chef within our dynamic culinary team.
Based at The Inn at Freshford, newly acquired and reopened as part of the Iford Manor Estate, we specialise in preparing food from scratch, often sourced from the adjacent farm on the Estate. This will give the successful candidate excellent exposure to a wide range of skills and techniques within the kitchen.
The ideal candidate will possess a passion for food and a commitment to delivering exceptional dining experiences. This role involves food preparation, kitchen operations, and ensuring high standards of food safety and quality. The Chef will play a vital role in maintaining the organisation's reputation for excellence in hospitality and cuisine.
Duties
Work with other kitchen staff to ensure efficient food production and service.
Prepare, cook, and present a variety of dishes according to established recipes and standards.
Understand and follow food safety procedures, ensuring compliance with health regulations at all times.
Help to manage inventory levels, order supplies, and oversee stock control to minimise waste.
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area in accordance with hygiene standards.
Assist in delivering special events as required.
Ensure timely service during busy periods while maintaining high-quality standards.
Skills
Proven experience in food production, cooking, and kitchen management within a hospitality environment (desirable but not essential).
Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in hygiene standards.
Excellent culinary skills with an eye for presentation and detail.
Experience in restaurant settings or similar establishments is highly desirable.
Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently under pressure.
Good organisational skills with the capacity to oversee food preparation from start to finish.
