Trainee Design Engineer
to join our team.
Role Overview:
Reporting directly to the Design Manager, this role is an integral part of the businesses ongoing success. As such, you will be responsible for working closely with the Design Team and customers to assist with the development of existing and new business. Any drawings produced will be used to assist production through to installation, therefore these must meet high quality, measurable standards in terms of time and quality.
Main duties will include:
Produce engineering drawings as per customer requirements in terms of standards, cost and time.
Interpret technical requests into drawings in readiness for manufacturing output.
Manage your workload ensuring adherence to the approval and manufacture schedule agreed with Customers and Production.
Work closely with the design team and production staff to assist with any troubleshooting or new developments.
Assist with any other duties as required by the business in line with your skill set and experience.
Skills & Experience Required:
In order to be considered for this position the successful candidate must have an interest in Design & Manufacturing. Having demonstrated this through subjects taken at school, such as Design, Maths, any Sciences and any 2D or 3D design.
It would be advantageous to have a basic understanding of a 3D software, such as Solidworks, Pro-Eng, Inventor or Catia.
Be an independent self-starter.
Possess basic knowledge of sheet metal fabrication, design and material handling systems would be a distinct advantage.
Have no fear of exploring innovative problem-solving solutions.
Must be able to work equally as well as part of a team or on your own.
Be able to agree and meet reasonable time scales for the work required.
Pay attention to detail and quality with a continuous improvement mind set and ability to multitask.

Salary is negotiable dependent on qualifications and experience.
Full time, permanent contract.
Full training will be provided both in house and outsourced.
28 days holiday (inclusive of annual, bank/public days) increasing with service.
