Kiddie Capers Childcare has 12 settings located across Sussex from Ardingly to the South Coast. Owned and operated by two local families, Kiddie Capers Childcare provide a truly enriching early years education, where every child's potential is reached, and individuality is celebrated.

We are looking for a

Trainee Forest School Leader

to join our ever-growing team, term time only! In this role, you will play a pivotal role in delivering outdoor education programs across all our sites, immersing children in nature-based learning experiences. This is an entry level role so no experience in Forest School is needed but a passion for the outdoors is essential. A valid driver's licence is required, as travel to all settings is necessary.

Main Duties:



Assist in planning and delivering Forest School sessions in line with the Forest School ethos and learning outcomes Support children's learning and development through outdoor play, exploration, and hands-on activities in a natural woodland environment Maintain a safe and engaging outdoor environment, ensuring tools, equipment, and materials are used appropriately and safely Observe and document children's progress and behaviour, contributing to session evaluations and planning Engage with parents, carers, and school staff to build strong, supportive relationships and share insights into children's learning Participate in training and development activities, including working towards a Forest School Leader qualification (Level 3) Assist in the nursery after forest school sessions, supporting children as they settle back into indoor play and activities

Requirements:



Experience in working with children Excellent communication and interpersonal skills A passion for the outdoor environment Drivers licence A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children

Hours & Pay:



20-25 hours a week over 5 days (9am-1pm or 9am-2pm), term time only 13.43 per hour (once Qualified, you will move to 14.43 per hour)
