Job Description

The Nature Box Forest School is a pioneering company, working with children from the age of 2 to 18 years, and supporting them with their love of learning, through engagement and interaction with the great outdoors.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Forest School Leader, to work with us on a in our Alternative provision service, supporting children who are finding access to mainstream education difficult.

This job role will be Alternative provision Forest School leader.

This role is during term time only, with the opportunity for additional shifts during the school holidays.

The right candidate will be working with children at primary and secondary school age.

Sessions with the children will run 9am-2pm, Monday - Thursday. Site is closed on Fridays.

The right candidate will work from 8.30pm-3.30pm, setting up a range of stimulating activities prior to children attending, and then reflecting, planning and tidying away at the end of the session.

We strongly believe in a team community, so allow staff the time after session to come together, reflect and plan as a team for the next day. this is for approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes - 2 hours.

We offer full training through our training hub service.

Responsibilities



Lead engaging outdoor learning sessions for children, utilizing forest school principles to foster personal and social development. Create and implement lesson plans that promote exploration and creativity in a natural environment. Ensure the safety and well-being of all participants during activities. Collaborate with parents and staff to support children's individual learning needs. Monitor and assess student progress, providing feedback to enhance their educational experience. Maintain and care for the site, the natural environment, and role-model this to the students in their care.

Qualifications



Experience working with children in educational or recreational settings Strong teaching skills with a focus on outdoor learning Ability to create engaging and inclusive activities in a forest school environment Knowledge of child development and behavior management techniques Certification in outdoor education or related fields is a plus Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to connect with students and parents Education Qualification Level 3 or higher Forest school leader qualification Level 2 or above required but not essential. Training can be provided to the right candidate.
Job Type: Fixed term contract
Contract length: 24 months

Pay: 12.60 per hour
