We are seeking a motivated
Trainee Ofsted Homes Manager
to support the operation of our children's residential home based in
Milton Keynes (MK7)
.
This role is ideal for an experienced Deputy Manager or Senior Practitioner who is ready to progress into a Registered Manager position. You will receive full training, mentoring, and professional development to equip you with the knowledge and confidence required to successfully register with Ofsted and manage your own service.
Key Responsibilities
Support the day-to-day management of the children's home.
Work closely with the Registered Manager to ensure full compliance with
Ofsted
and
Children's Homes Regulations
.
Promote a safe, nurturing, and positive environment where young people can thrive.
Supervise, guide, and support staff to maintain high standards of care and practice.
Participate in care planning, reviews, and team training sessions.
Develop strong relationships with children, families, local authorities, and partner professionals.
Step up in the absence of the Registered Manager and prepare for future registration.
Requirements
Experience working in a children's residential setting (minimum of 2 years preferred).
Ideally holds the
Level 3 Diploma for Residential Childcare
(or equivalent).
Willing to work towards the
Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare
.
Strong understanding of safeguarding, Ofsted expectations, and regulatory standards.
Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills.
A genuine passion for improving outcomes for children and young people.
