Quantity Surveyor Trainee

Company overview:

Seabrook Developments Ltd work nationally around the UK providing building services to the food processing industry as well as other commercial and domestic sectors. We carry out all types of building works including, new builds, refurbishments, maintenance, and small works. Operating from our headquarters in South Hanningfield, Essex, we have offices with a yard and warehouses dedicated to plant and equipment storage. We have a core group of operatives and site managers who have been with the company for many years to ensure that the company's philosophy of quality work and services are consistently supplied from job to job.

We are currently looking for a dedicated and insightful Quantity Surveyor to join us at Seabrook Developments Ltd. As a key player in project management and economic evaluations, you will help us continue to deliver outstanding results while maintaining cost-efficiency and compliance with all regulations. This role is ideal for someone passionate about the construction industry and eager to grow their career with an industry leader.

Key Responsibilities:

Managing Risks: Discover everything that goes into projects and learn to mitigate the risks when the project moves forward.

Controlling Costs: Identifying and reducing business expenses to increase profits. Learning when to budget and minimizing cost where possible. Preparing, negotiation and analysing costs for tenders and contracts

Supervisor Mentorship: Work alongside competent supervisors who will guide and mentor you throughout your working career.

Skill Development: Throughout your learning period, identify your specific interests and areas of expertise within the field, allowing you to tailor your interests into further education.

Qualities:

Motivated and eager to develop skills in civil engineering and construction.

Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety.

Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Willingness to learn and adapt to new challenges.

Additional education or training in construction-related fields is a plus.
