Transactional Assistant
to join our Payroll team within the Finance Department, where accuracy, efficiency, and service excellence are key.
Key Responsibilities:
Process payroll inputs into the HR/Payroll module of the Enterprise Resource Planning system.
Ensure all transactions comply with Financial Regulations, Conditions of Service, and audit requirements.
Apply Conditions of Service for Police and Support Staff to payroll payments and deductions.
Liaise with external bodies regarding pay information and distribute payroll documentation as required.
Meet strict payroll deadlines and resolve queries from staff, officers, and external agencies.
Support the team with general clerical duties and contribute to the smooth running of payroll operations.
Essential Skills & Experience:
Experience in a payroll transactional environment.
Ability to accurately process high volumes of payroll data.
Strong understanding of financial procedures and Conditions of Service.
Ability to interpret legislation and national guidance (e.g. HMRC regulations).
Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
Basic numeracy and literacy skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft products.
Accurate keyboard skills.
Desirable Qualifications:
Book-keeping qualification or CIPP/CAPP certification.
Knowledge of police sector finances.
Additional Information:
You may be required to work at other locations across Norfolk and Suffolk Constabularies.
