Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Transport Manager to oversee our logistics and transportation operations. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership qualities and have a solid understanding of supply chain management. This role requires excellent organisational skills, the ability to communicate effectively, and proficiency in IT applications such as Excel and Outlook. The Transport Manager will be responsible for ensuring efficient transport processes while maintaining high standards of safety and compliance.

Responsibilities

Manage and coordinate all transport activities to ensure timely delivery of goods. Develop and implement transport strategies that align with business objectives. Oversee the planning and scheduling of transport routes to optimise efficiency. Lead a team of drivers and logistics personnel, providing guidance and support as needed. Maintain accurate records of transportation operations, including vehicle maintenance and driver performance. Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and safety standards within the transport sector. Collaborate with supply chain teams to improve overall operational efficiency. Utilise computer systems to track shipments, manage inventory, and generate reports.

Requirements

Proven experience in a transport management role or similar position within the logistics industry. Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team. Excellent organisational skills with a keen attention to detail. Proficient in IT applications, particularly Excel and Outlook, for data analysis and communication purposes. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to liaise effectively with team members and external partners. Knowledge of supply chain processes and best practices in transport management is highly desirable. Ability to drive initiatives that enhance operational efficiency while ensuring safety compliance.
