4R is a growing, privately owned business and we are looking to recruit an experienced Transport Manager to join our team as soon as possible.

Our core business is recycling organic materials to land, circa 400,000 tonnes per annum. Almost all of which requires road transport. We operate nationally, with several operating centres, a modern in-house fleet (less than 10 HGV's) made up of a combination of articulated bulk tippers, 8 wheel tippers and articulated tankers. The fleet has recently been modernised with 2 new 8 wheelers and 5 new tractors units purchased in 2025

The main purpose of our transport function is for in-house use enabling our wider business activity of treating and recycling organics to farm land.

We transport as much as we can with our own fleet, but the balance of what we don't transport ourselves is then sub-contracted to 3rd party transport companies.

You will need to manage our statutory fleet compliance and act as line manager for our own drivers on a day-to-day basis, scheduling collections, and oversee the servicing and maintenance of our fleet. You will also need to source 3rd party transport companies, arranging quotes and booking loads with them.

For our business to operate efficiently, it's critical that we collect materials from our clients and deliver them to our recycling sites regularly, on time and compliantly - this makes the TM role a key function within our business.
