Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Transport Manager to oversee our transportation operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring efficient and effective transport logistics, maintaining high standards of customer service, and managing a team of drivers. Experience of Hi-Abs and Plant would be advantageous but not essential. This role requires strong organisational skills, excellent communication abilities, and proficiency in various IT applications.

Duties

Manage daily transport operations to ensure timely delivery of goods. Coordinate with drivers to optimise routes and schedules. Maintain accurate records of transport activities and vehicle maintenance. Ensure compliance with all relevant transport regulations and safety standards. Provide exceptional customer service by addressing client inquiries and resolving issues promptly. Utilise Excel and Outlook for reporting and communication purposes. Train and support staff in operational procedures and customer service excellence. Monitor performance metrics to improve efficiency within the transport department.

Experience

Proven experience in a transport management role or similar position. Strong computer literacy with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Outlook. Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively. Ability to communicate clearly in English, both verbally and in writing. A customer-focused approach with a commitment to delivering high-quality service. Transport manager CPC would advantageous but not essential.
