West Coast Haulage Limited is a progressive and professional organisation that has grown to become one of the leading HGV suppliers within the construction industry working on major civil, infrastructure and highways projects across the UK. The company has grown year on year and is now operating one of the largest fleets of over 100+ state of the art HGV'S and have achieved the FORS GOLD Accreditation Status.

Main Responsibilities



- manage the performance and maintenance of the organisation's transport to produce an efficient transport service, maximising performance.

- ensuring that the transport team understands its duties and its role within the company

- responsibility to adhere to budgets and plan to maximise profitability

- develop new initiatives and look for new ways to optimise the transport service offering

- meet your targets and those of the team

- the smooth running of the transport and team

- contribute to training and development of the team and organisation as a whole

- assist in achieving maximum "customer" satisfaction in accordance with company plans

- maintain responsibility for performing all duties in compliance with related legal/statutory, regulations, professional duties, responsibilities and obligations

Day to day responsibilities



- manage, direct and monitor the transport service and the overall performance of the transport to increase efficiency and maximise service, performance and value.

- day to day tasks such as route planning, resource allocation and management, driver supervision

- effective liaison, support and assistance with all departments of the company

- maintain and improve mechanisms for the operation of the transport

- utilise agreed systems to manage the transport operation; servicing, analysis and documentation

- support to all other departments with transport issues

- delegate authority and responsibility to team with supervision, accountability and review

- maintain accurate records

- adhere to all organisation policies and procedures

- interact and co-operate with all members of the company, its suppliers and customers

From time to time you may be expected to be part of special projects as are reasonably required of your job role.

Requirements

o Experience of Microsoft packages especially Word, Excel and Office

o Experience in administrative role

o Excellent record keeping skills

o Attention to detail

o Good communication skills

o Ability to work well within a team

o Ability to work to targets

o Ability to work on your own initiative

o Good time management /organisation skills
