Treasury & Tax (manager / Head Of)

London, ENG, GB, United Kingdom

Job Description

Nomia helps companies reduce cost, manage risk, and increase efficiency for non-strategic third-party spend. We act as an extension of our customer's procurement team by executing the end-to-end sourcing, supplier onboarding and contracting process for indirect categories of spend.

We are focused on delivering an innovative and disruptive procurement solution to our customers to make managing non-strategic spend simpler, more transparent, and better value.

We are a global team based in the United Kingdom, Singapore, Dubai, Poland, India, and the United States.

The Role

We're looking to strengthen our Finance team with a Treasury & Tax specialist. We're open to considering candidates at both

Head of

and

Manager

level, depending on skills and experience. Our priority is to find the right person to own and develop this function, whether you're ready to lead at a senior level or looking to take the next step in your career with the support to grow into a leadership role.

We are seeking a highly skilled Treasury & Tax leader to oversee global treasury operations and tax compliance across 15+ countries, with ongoing expansion into new regions throughout Europe and the Middle East. This role requires both hands-on management and strategic foresight to ensure liquidity, compliance, and scalability.

Responsibilities

Treasury & Liquidity Management

Oversee all aspects of global day-to-day treasury management, including customer collections, supplier payments, and company card programmes. Approve weekly and ad hoc payment runs, ensuring appropriate internal controls are in place. Prepare and maintain accurate 13-week cashflow forecasts, ensuring they reflect the latest information and anticipated needs. Strategically manage cash across the group, including intercompany transfers, to ensure liquidity in each region while considering FX exposure, ease of repatriation, and optimising returns on idle funds. Oversee FX risk management, including execution of hedging strategies where appropriate. Optimise use of factoring, reverse factoring, and supplier early-payment discounts to improve working capital. Lead bank account rationalisation and manage the setup of new banking relationships as the business expands into additional countries. Develop frameworks for determining when to establish a full entity and banking infrastructure vs. a light/basic setup in new countries, balancing speed, cost, and control.

Global Tax Strategy & Compliance

Ensure global tax compliance across VAT, corporation tax, and withholding tax, including review and approval of all returns for timely and accurate submission. Proactively plan for tax obligations in new regions as the business scales, ensuring compliance readiness from day one. Support and refine the group's transfer pricing strategy to optimise efficiency and compliance. Identify and pursue opportunities for tax optimisation, including R&D credits and other available incentives. Explore technology solutions to automate and streamline compliance processes, reducing reliance on manual input.

Strategic Leadership & Process Excellence

Partner with senior leadership to shape the treasury and tax operating model for international expansion, including best practices for efficient money movement across borders. Establish global best practices for liquidity planning, cash management, and banking structure to support a fast-scaling, multi-entity business. Drive automation and digitalisation initiatives across treasury and tax to improve efficiency and scalability. Lead and develop a small team, providing direction, mentorship, and support for professional growth.

Skills/Qualifications

Proven experience in a senior treasury and/or tax role within a global, multi-entity organisation. Deep knowledge of international cash management, FX, and tax compliance frameworks. Experience designing and executing treasury and tax strategies in new markets. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work in complex, fast-moving environments. Organised, adaptable, and comfortable working with ambiguity and evolving priorities.

General Information

Adhere to Nomia's data protection and information security policies at all times. Promote diversity and inclusion in line with Nomia's core values. This is a hybrid role, with two office days per week required, potentially more during training or as requested by your supervisor. Contribute to continuous improvement in systems and processes. * Please note that this role description is a guideline, and duties may evolve over time.
