Chew Valley Trees are looking for someone to work on our tree nursery and do deliveries.

Work environment

To be able to undertake all of the tasks expected of you, it is of prime importance that you are physically fit. We work outside all the year round and in all weathers on a whole range of activities. You will be mainly nursery-based but this role will also involve making deliveries.

Nursery worker role

The nursery grows about 300 varieties of trees in a range of sizes from 3L to 500L pots. In the winter we supply bare root trees and hedging. Many customers come to the nursery to select and collect, and many new customers find us through our online shop www.chewvalleytrees.co.uk. The high number of web orders we receive means that we dispatch over most of southern England and beyond.

Nursery-based tasks will chiefly involve:

Order collation - picking and preparing orders for collection and dispatch
Container production - potting, caning and tying-in (in winter and spring); irrigation and weed control
Field production - grounds maintenance at our field production site, in addition to caning and tying-in etc.

Delivery driving

We deliver all over the UK and manly to private houses, so good customer interaction skills is a must as is a clean driving licence. We deliver in long wheel base 3.5ton Vans so experience in driving large vehicles is an advantage.

Hours of work

Monday to Saturday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. with 28 days paid holiday (including Bank Holidays).
