Head Chef - Turkish Restaurant (Southampton)

Job Overview:

We are seeking a talented and experienced Head Chef to lead our kitchen team at our authentic Turkish Grill, Kebab, and Fine Dining Restaurant in Southampton.

The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, a passion for Turkish and Mediterranean cuisine, and the ability to deliver consistent, high-quality dishes.

As Head Chef, you will oversee all aspects of kitchen operations -- from menu creation to team management -- ensuring smooth and efficient service every day.

Responsibilities:

Supervise, train, and motivate kitchen staff (grill, kebab, meze, and kitchen assistants). Oversee food preparation, cooking, and presentation to maintain traditional Turkish flavours and premium quality. Create and develop authentic Turkish menus (grill, meze, kebab, specials) while incorporating modern touches. Ensure full compliance with UK food safety and hygiene regulations. Control inventory, manage suppliers, and ensure top-quality ingredients are always available. Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure a smooth customer experience. Maintain cleanliness, organisation, and efficiency in the kitchen. Monitor kitchen performance and continuously improve quality and workflow.
Experience & Skills Required:

Minimum 3 years' experience in a Head Chef or Sous Chef position (preferably in Turkish or Mediterranean cuisine). Strong leadership and communication skills; capable of managing a busy kitchen. Expertise in grill and kebab preparation, meze, sauces, and Turkish-style presentation. Excellent knowledge of food safety and hygiene (Level 2/3 certification preferred). Experience with menu planning and cost control. Passion for cooking and a desire to maintain authentic Turkish culinary traditions.
