Job Description

We are seeking a Turkish Qualified Interpreter to provide accurate, confidential, and professional interpreting services between Turkish and English. The successful candidate will support clients across sectors such as healthcare, legal, local government, education, and community services, ensuring effective communication for all parties involved.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide face-to-face, telephone, and/or video interpreting services between Turkish and English. Accurately interpret spoken communication while maintaining the original meaning, tone, and intent. Adhere to professional ethics, including confidentiality, impartiality, and accuracy. Prepare for assignments by reviewing relevant terminology and subject matter. Manage interpreting sessions professionally and maintain clear communication flow. Comply with client and organisational policies and procedures.
Essential Requirements:

Fluency in Turkish and English (spoken and comprehension). Must hold a recognised interpreting qualification, such as: CIOL Qualifications Level 1, 2, or 3 (formerly CIL), OR DPSI (Diploma in Public Service Interpreting). Proven experience interpreting in professional or public service settings. Strong listening, memory, and communication skills. Ability to remain neutral, professional, and calm in sensitive situations. Excellent time management and reliability.
Desirable Criteria:

Experience interpreting in one or more of the following sectors: healthcare, legal, social services, education, or housing. Knowledge of professional interpreting codes of conduct (e.g., NRPSI standards). Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
