The Role:
With profound specialist knowledge on the prevention of sexual exploitation, abuse and harassment within UK contexts, the UK Safeguarding Advisor has an important role in realizing Oxfam GB's safeguarding strategy, including the implementation of safeguarding-related standards, policies and procedures across UK operations.

An ideal candidate for the role will also be / have:

• Experience of Safeguarding investigation and prevention activities in line with UK legislation and best practice.
• Experience of supporting young people and people with care and support needs in a volunteering capacity
• Demonstrable interest in working to prevent sexual exploitation, abuse and harassment.
• Empathy for the challenges survivors face in reporting and experience managing stakeholder expectations.
• Able to work professionally and with a high degree of confidentiality at all times
• Strong facilitation and presentation skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Excellent written and spoken English
• Strong IT skills
• Strong and clear communicator and public speaker, capable of delivering messages appropriately to a variety of audiences, building a sense of passion and engagement
• Excellent self-awareness and understanding of the need for self-care
• Ability to travel within the UK
