The Role - Senior Logistics Specialist

We are seeking an experienced and highly organised Senior Logistics Specialist with a strong background in freight forwarding to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing end-to-end logistics operations, ensuring the seamless movement of goods across European and domestic supply chains. This role is pivotal in optimising processes, maintaining compliance, managing key relationships, and delivering exceptional service to our clients.

Key Responsibilities for Senior Logistics Specialist

Overseeing the UK freight forwarding operation, managing carrier relationships and ensuring cost-effective, timely transport solutions. Negotiate rates and service agreements with suppliers, ensuring strong commercial value and high service standards. Manage a portfolio of UK carriers, flexing capacity based on changing customer needs and market conditions. Analyse logistics processes to identify efficiencies, cost savings, and service improvements. Lead and mentor junior team members while ensuring compliance with industry legislation and best practices.

About You

We're looking for someone who brings:


Experience in UK freight forwarding with strong carrier networks and solid operational knowledge across FTL and specialist transport. Confident negotiator with a track record of managing supplier relationships and securing competitive rates. Analytical thinker with a focus on continuous improvement and delivering operational efficiencies. A collaborative team player who supports and mentors others while maintaining high personal accountability. Ideally familiar with warehousing and specialist logistics services such as ADR, pharma, or time-critical deliveries.
