CFC USA are continuously looking for ways to strategically align with market growth and we now have an exciting opportunity for someone with strong Cyber/Tech E&O experience to expand our onshore capabilities based in Atlanta.
About the role
As a Cyber/Tech Underwriter, you will be responsible for underwriting business across all U.S. territories, covering both surplus lines and CFC USA's admitted insurance product. You'll bring strong expertise in cyber underwriting across a diverse range of industry sectors -- from SMEs to mid-market and large accounts--while also focusing on business development within the territory.
You'll collaborate closely with colleagues across CFC USA and both the Cyber and Tech E&O underwriting teams in London to deepen your understanding of the cyber/tech insurance market, CFC's distribution strategy, and cross-sell initiatives. A key part of your role will involve maintaining strong relationships with existing brokers and developing new partnerships across the U.S. to drive new business.Underwrite new and renewal Cyber and Tech E&O business across the U.S., focusing on long-term profitability.
Respond to broker enquiries efficiently, including quote requests, coverage questions, and administrative needs, while delivering service within agreed SLAs and underwriting authority.
Develop and maintain strong broker relationships, including targeted growth of key brokers and managing new business and retention targets.
Drive business development by meeting new brokers and clients, promoting product awareness, supporting launches, and traveling to key U.S. regions.
Educate brokers on the value of CFC USA's admitted platform, surplus lines and the different features and benefits of cyber insurance products.
Expand technical underwriting knowledge in the SME and mid-market cyber space, including exposure and control analysis.
Represent CFC at internal and external industry events, including potential speaking engagements.
Support team performance monitoring through the production of reports and statistics.
About you
We're looking for a driven individual with a strong work ethic with an ability to operate effectively under pressure. The candidate should have at least 5 years in an underwriting or production-focused role, with in-depth knowledge of Cyber/Tech E&O products.
You will be a clear, professional communicator with brokers and stakeholders, keen to focus on both broker development and hands-on underwriting. We're looking for someone with well-established relationships within the U.S. cyber insurance market, spanning retail and wholesale brokerages of various sizes and across multiple regions. You will also have strong cross-line knowledge, including a solid understanding of related insurance products such as professional liability, enabling a holistic approach to underwriting and client solutions.
