Job Overview

We are seeking a reliable and skilled Van Driver(5tonne van) to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for transporting goods and materials safely and efficiently to various locations. This role requires excellent driving skills, effective communication, and a strong commitment to safety. The Van Driver will also assist in loading and unloading items, ensuring that all deliveries are completed in a timely manner. Also, will be required to jump in on jobs to help with labour.

Responsibilities

Safely operate a van to transport goods to designated locations. Communicate effectively with warehouse staff and clients regarding delivery schedules and requirements. Load and unload items from the van, ensuring proper handling of all materials. Conduct routine checks on the vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition, including basic mechanical knowledge for minor repairs. Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including any discrepancies or issues encountered during transport. Adhere to all traffic laws and company policies regarding safe driving practices. Assist in warehouse duties as needed, including inventory management and organisation of goods.

Qualifications

Proven experience as a Van Driver or Delivery Driver is preferred. A valid driver's licence with a clean driving record is essential. Familiarity with commercial driving regulations and safety standards. Strong communication skills to interact with team members and clients effectively. Basic mechanical knowledge for performing minor vehicle maintenance tasks is advantageous. Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently to meet delivery deadlines. Previous experience in a warehouse environment is beneficial but not mandatory.
