Job Overview

We are seeking a reliable and enthusiastic 25 year old + Van Driver/yardman to join our team. We are a Demolition/Groundworks/Landscape provider based in Stevenage, Hertfordshire.

The successful candidate will be responsible for transporting goods safely and efficiently to and from our sites across Hertfordshire/ Bedfordshire /Cambridgeshire /North London, ensuring timely delivery while adhering to all traffic regulations and company policies. This role requires the ability to handle various driving tasks in a flatbed van as well as a basic knowledge of building materials and tools. Driver will need to be 25 years old + to comply with our fleet insurance

Duties

Operate the van in a safe and responsible manner, ensuring compliance with all road regulations. Load and unload goods onto the van, ensuring proper handling to prevent damage. Plan and follow efficient routes to ensure timely deliveries. Conduct pre-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition. Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including times, locations, and any issues encountered during transport. Communicate effectively with supervisors on site

Qualifications

Valid driving license with a clean driving record; experience as a delivery driver is preferred. Previous experience in commercial driving or operating flatbed vehicles is advantageous. Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage time effectively. Excellent communication skills for interacting with customers and team members. Ability to lift heavy items safely and perform physical tasks associated with loading and unloading goods. A commitment to safety and adherence to all relevant regulations while on the road.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: 11.60-12.04 per hour

Expected hours: 40 - 50 per week
