Vehicle Damage Assessor
Reports To: Bodyshop Supervisor
Role Overview:
The primary responsibility of this position is to accurately estimate repair costs in alignment with insurer and customer requirements. The role aims to facilitate smooth and efficient vehicle repairs while maintaining acceptable profit margins. The individual will independently complete estimates for qualified staff and supervise non-qualified technicians when necessary.
Key Responsibilities:
Quickly prepare both manual and digital repair estimates that adhere to insurer and customer standards, ensuring high customer satisfaction.
Manage parts procurement by verifying correct, complete, and timely delivery, and handle returns of incorrect or unnecessary parts. When applicable, assess whether parts are genuine, non-genuine, or second-hand, and label and track them accordingly.
Keep detailed records of all estimates, including notes on work requiring prior approval. Ensure no work proceeds without proper authorization, and document reasons for any unauthorized estimates.
After estimates are approved, coordinate with body shop personnel to define repair scope or communicate vehicle status, such as declaring a total loss, following insurance procedures.
Comply with all relevant health and safety regulations applicable to the role and environment.
Technical Skills:
The required technical expertise will be discussed and aligned with your manager or team leader, based on your experience and capabilities.
Additional Duties:
Given the size and complexity of the facility, you may be assigned other reasonable tasks as directed by senior management, commensurate with your skills.
Compensation and Benefits:
Salary up to 46,000 per year, including site bonus, contingent on experience and qualifications.
Minimum of 3 years' relevant experience and ATA accreditation are required.
Experience with Audatex and Autoflow is advantageous.
Working hours are 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday to Friday, with a 30-minute lunch break.
