We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Vehicle Technician to join the team for our Volkswagen specialist service centre Rhiwbina Service Centre, this will predominantly be a Volkswagen, Audi, SEAT and Skoda service specialist but all makes and models are wellcome. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical knowledge of VAG vehicles and be proficient in the use of hand and power tools. This role involves diagnosing, using the latest diagnostic tools including VCDS , repairing, and maintaining vehicles to ensure they operate safely and efficiently. The Vehicle Technician will also provide excellent customer service, ensuring that clients are informed and satisfied with the services provided.
Responsibilities
Diagnose vehicle issues using schematics and mechanical knowledge to identify faults using the latest VAG Group diagnostic system ODIS and others.
Perform repairs and maintenance on various types of vehicles, ensuring compliance with safety standards.
Assemble and disassemble vehicle components as needed for repairs.
Utilise hand tools and power tools effectively to carry out repairs.
Conduct equipment repair tasks to maintain workshop functionality.
Provide exceptional customer service by communicating effectively with clients regarding their vehicle needs.
Perform heavy lifting as required during the repair process.
Maintain a clean and organised workspace, adhering to health and safety regulations.
Qualifications
Proven experience as a Vehicle Technician or similar role is preferred.
Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot various vehicle systems.
Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and equipment repair techniques.
Ability to read and interpret schematics related to vehicle systems.
Excellent customer service skills with a focus on client satisfaction.
Capability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently.
A willingness to learn new skills and adapt to changing technologies in the automotive industry.
MOT tester qualified is a plus.
Volkswagen, Audi, Seat or Skoda experience preferred.
