This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys interacting with the public, understands veteran-related issues, and is a capable office administrator. The role involves providing advice, information and signposting to members of the veteran community.

It provides an opportunity for the post holder to gain knowledge about the Armed Forces Community and working in the mental health and addictions field.

Part-Time STAND TO Veteran Community HUB Administrator

Based at the Veteran HUB in Chesterfield, 28- 30 hours weekly, some early evening and weekend work required.

Temporary post funded until March 2026 with possibility for extension until March 2028

Salary: 24,107.00 per annum (full-time equivalent).

As this is a part-time position, the actual annual salary will be pro rata based on the hours worked.



This post is based at our new veteran community HUB in Chesterfield Town centre. A proportion of the time will need to be spent at the HUB; however, if necessary, time can be spent back at the Dents base. Should the lease of the HUB end, this base for this post will return to the DAAS base at Dents Chambers in Chesterfield.

KEY TASKS: To operationally support the smooth running of the Veteran Community HUB office and provide administrative support services for project workers. There will also be a requirement for the VCH administrator to respond to calls, both in person and by phone, from veterans and professionals who contact the VCH via the VIP line.

To ensure an office presence at the VCH on allotted working days To provide a Veteran Community HUB response to callers in person, both professionals, veterans and family members who call for advice, information, guidance or support To ensure that statistical data relating to callers and activity within the VCH is recorded for monitoring purposes To make any adjustments to referral forms and information as directed by the STAND TO Operational manager To ensure administrative systems at the VCH are fit for purpose To support project workers and volunteers in using the systems and recording data appropriately as required To update and be conversant with the HALO database, and or be able to record and maintain spreadsheet data Provide statistical reports and charts, and graphs for management reports and presentations To provide signposting for veterans who need to access a range of veteran and generic support services To maintain the fixed asset register (linking with the DAAS finance manager) relating to VCH office equipment, phones and liaise with IT and telecoms provider Order supplies as needed at the VCH for its smooth running Provide support in locking premises, fire system testing and the security systems that are in place at the VCH To maintain spreadsheets in accordance with the requirements of the Operational Manager of the VCH To keep registers of training records, fire training and Health and Safety to ensure that the staff and volunteers using the HUB are briefed and updated To provide support in the induction process for new workers and volunteers To help process invoices and necessary paperwork as required by the Operational Manager To ensure that any office facilities or systems which fail to work appropriately are reported to the Operational Manager and that suppliers and maintenance firms, where appropriate, are informed To maintain supplies of leaflets and information for those who use the HUB are plentiful, on display and re-ordered where necessary To provide feedback to the VCH Operational Manager or DAAS Clinical Governance Manager on any issues or risks which impact workers, veterans, families, and volunteers Work with partner agencies to ensure both inward and onward referral processes are working effectively Support project staff in organising activities and events for veterans To undertake promotional work such as social media posting, attendance at events, and dissemination of leaflets and information as required To be flexible to the needs of the service and the efficient provision of the VC HUB provision

Pay: Up to 19,546.00 per year

Expected hours: 28 - 30 per week
