Exclusively cats has been providing care for the cats of Ayr for 20 years, recently taken over by new owner we are seeking more veterinary care assistants as we hope to expand.

Job Overview


We are seeking a Veterinary Assistant to join our team in providing high-quality care to animals. The ideal candidate will assist veterinarians with animal handling/restraining for exams, managing the front desk operations of the veterinary practice and helping with surgical operations.

Duties


Assist veterinarians during examinations and surgeries

Prepare and sterilise surgical instruments and equipment

Administer medications as directed by veterinarians

Perform laboratory tests and analyse samples

Monitor and record vital signs of animals

Provide compassionate care to animals before, during, and after procedures

Maintain cleanliness and organisation in treatment area

Managing the front desk operations of the veterinary practice

Qualifications


- Previous experience in a veterinary setting is desirable
- A love of cats
- Excellent communication skills with both colleagues and pet owners
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- A genuine passion for animal welfare and care

Pay: 12.21-13.00 per hour
