Join the wonderful award winning team at Bury St Edmunds Veterinary Centre in this brand new role as a dispenser. The role is Part time- 16-24 hours a week (over 2- 4days depending on preference) and will include a minimum of an 8 hour shift on Fridays between the hours of 8-7.
As a dispenser you will be vital for helping to ensure the smooth running of the day, allowing the clinical team to spend more time with our clients and patients.
Responsibilities
Accurately dispense medications as prescribed by veterinarians, ensuring proper dosage and instructions are provided to pet owners.
Maintain an organized inventory of pharmaceutical supplies, including ordering and restocking as necessary.
Collaborate with veterinary staff to ensure seamless communication regarding patient care and medication management.
Uphold high standards of cleanliness and organisation within the dispensary area, adhering to health and safety regulations.
Stay informed about new products, medications, and veterinary practices through ongoing education and training.
Skills
Previous experience in a dispensary, veterinary or medical environment is preferred but not essential.
Excellent attention to detail with a focus on accuracy in dispensing medications.
Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with pet owners and team members.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
A compassionate approach towards animals and their owners, demonstrating empathy in all interactions.
