Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Nurse to join our team. We are a small independent, single site veterinary practice with a supportive team and lovely clients. The successful candidate will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to our animal patients, supporting veterinarians, and ensuring the well-being of animals and their owners.

Responsibilities

Assisting veterinarians during consultations, examinations, and surgical procedures Administering medications, vaccinations, and treatments as directed by the veterinarian Monitoring anaesthesia and assisting with surgical preparations and post-operative care Providing nursing care, including wound management, feeding, and hydration support Maintaining accurate records of patient histories, treatments, and procedures Cleaning and sterilising medical equipment and treatment areas to uphold hygiene standards Supporting laboratory work such as sample collection, processing, and analysis Communicating effectively with pet owners regarding treatment plans and aftercare instructions

Skills

Prior veterinary experience is highly desirable, demonstrating familiarity with clinical procedures and animal handling Laboratory experience is advantageous for supporting diagnostic tests and sample processing Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail in record keeping and medication administration Compassionate nature with strong communication skills to liaise effectively with clients and team members Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team Flexibility to adapt to varying workloads and emergency situations within the practice

Job Types: Part-time, Temp to perm
Contract length: 15 months

Pay: 13.60-14.60 per hour

Expected hours: 14 - 30 per week
