We are seeking a dedicated qualified Veterinary Nurse to join our small compassionate veterinary team in Stanstead Abbotts. The role would be Monday-Friday plus 1:4 Saturday mornings with no out of hours duties. Full back-up provided by our local veterinary hospital.
Responsibilities
Assist veterinary surgeons during consultations, surgeries, and examinations
Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as directed by the veterinary team
Take nurse clinics
Monitor anaesthesia and assist with surgical procedures
Collect samples for laboratory testing and perform basic laboratory analyses
Provide pre- and post-operative care to animals, including wound management and recovery monitoring
Maintain accurate medical records and update patient files diligently
Support client communication by explaining treatment plans and providing advice on animal care
Answering the phone and assisting at reception
Educate pet owners on nutrition, health maintenance, and preventative care
Performing clinical audits
Qualifications
Veterinary Nursing qualification
Laboratory experience is advantageous but not essential; training will be provided for laboratory procedures
Strong organisational skills with attention to detail
Excellent communication skills, demonstrating empathy towards clients and their animals
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
A genuine passion for animal welfare and health care excellence
