About the Team.

It\'s an exciting time to join the Home&Living Creative team after our recent move to our new studios based in Aintree Liverpool. The team consists of Art directors, Visual Merchandisers, Stylists, Set builders and Photographers. We work together both on and off site creating a wide variation of attention grabbing imagery to entice our customers with, including Home Interior trend shoots, Celebrity collaborations, PR events, Social media videos as well as Location work.

About the role

The role of the Home & Leisure Visual Merchandiser is to create engaging stories with which to inspire our customers to make online purchases. This is done through several channels - our Website, Social Media, Email, Brochures and TV adverts. You will really get the opportunity to bring our Interior, Garden, Sports (to name a few) products to life working in our Photographic studios. As a Visual Merchandiser, you will be accountable for selecting best placed products and work collaboratively with our creative team of art directors, stylists and photographers, on and off set to achieve fantastic content for customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Liaising and working with several teams such as Buying, Design, Marketing, social teams and PR
  • Conducting research on current or future trends in design and lifestyle to create competitive \'stories\'
  • Maintaining and working within a budget
  • Meeting with key stakeholders to discuss brief requirements and strategies
  • Using artistic skills or computer-aided programmes to create visuals and plans
  • Seeking feedback from colleagues on completed tasks and working practices
  • Carrying out \'comp (comparison) shops\' to maintain awareness of other retailers visual merchandising concepts
About you

Potential candidates should ensure they understand the difference between online visual merchandising and shop floor visual merchandising. As we are an online retailer, we are not \'hands on\' and very rarely handle physical products - most of our role is done digitally.

Key skills we are looking for:
  • A home interiors-based background either in design, styling or Online Visual Merchandising.
  • Demonstrable visual design skills with a strong retail VM portfolio.
  • Knowledge of current visual merchandising trends and best practices.
  • Maintaining and working to a budget.
  • A clear understanding of retail trends and seasonality.
  • Creative flare and innovative thinker.
  • Great communication and negotiation skills.
