Candidates must be able to set up HR functions and help develop the people and culture sides of the organisation. The organisation is going through exciting change, and transformation, so experience within business growth and strategy is beneficial.

Responsibility for the Volunteer talent acquisition function, ensuring the charity can find and on-board suitable new volunteers.

The Lead will work with management to provide a motivating and engaging environment where committed volunteer colleagues can do their best work.

Develop: working with management to provide development opportunities for colleagues is a key deliverable ensuring colleague performance ideally improves.

Introducing initiatives that keep colleagues within the organisation developing their careers in-house.

Lead Day-to-Day People/HR Team Activities

Source, secure and on-board new colleagues through robust and thorough Talent Acquisition processes.

Promote and encourage a positive culture in line with the Company's Cultural Values.

Oversee appropriate processes and procedures that assess and feedback colleague volunteer performance.

Provide day to day advice and best practice information to colleagues and management as required.

Implement appropriate capability, disciplinary and grievance measures to effectively resolve volunteer relations issues, though very rare as this has never occurred.

Implement and maintain appropriate volunteer succession planning activities in agreement with management.

Work with heads of department to devise training and career development plans for their areas.

Oversee sourcing and booking of training as approved.

Provide management coaching and training as required.

Support and input to graduate training scheme content and delivery.

Ensure smooth processing and risk mitigation with any terminations

Projects and Continuous Improvement

Devise and deliver People/HR projects in pursuit of improving business efficiency and effectiveness.

Own any People/HR-related activities in relation to mergers, acquisitions, TUPE and collective consultations.

Establish and maintain appropriate reporting and monitoring techniques to identify performance Classification

In conjunction with leadership, HR and the Inclusion & Wellbeing Manager, develop and deliver a robust, globally relevant Diversity, Equality & Inclusion plan and Wellbeing plan across the firm.

Work with senior leaders to develop a DEI programs and ensure plans reflect a DEI and Talent agenda.

Helping to further a strategy to put in place a data, evaluation and insights team together to gather and review amongst other things diversity data across the charity; analyse data to measure the effectiveness of DEI programmes and ensure relevant data reporting to the leadership team.

Strive to identify and address any systemic biases in processes and procedures.

Champion the development of innovative processes and practices to grow and develop diverse talent within the charity including exploring whether we should harness the use of AI and the ethical implications of this in recruitment.

Degree Educated, pref 2:1 (BA OR BSc, or above with FCIPD Level.

Volunteers with a positive, friendly approach and sense of loyalty to the organisation would be qualities we would seek.

The role will involve flexible, remote working with team meetings online and face to face catch-ups, and at london events we run where volunteers can get together and also take part in our events and workshops.
