Role Summary



We are currently recruiting a Trustee Board Member Housing to provide strategic direction and oversight of Paiwand's housing support initiatives. This role focuses particularly on unaccompanied young adults (boys) in need of housing support across the UK.

As a Housing Trustee, you will contribute expert advice, ensure good governance, and help shape the charity's strategic plans in line with legal requirements and best practices in housing and accommodation.

Key Responsibilities



Strategic Guidance

Contribute to the development of Paiwand's housing strategy. Provide expert input on housing policies, compliance, and service delivery standards.
Governance and Compliance

Ensure housing services adhere to UK legal and regulatory frameworks. Monitor and evaluate the impact of Paiwand's housing programs.
Risk Management

Identify and mitigate risks associated with housing provisions and safeguarding.
Partnerships and Networking

Build relationships with local authorities, housing associations, and stakeholders. Promote collaboration to strengthen resources and service delivery.
Financial Oversight

Review and advise on budgets related to housing projects. Ensure responsible financial stewardship of housing initiatives.
Advocacy and Representation

Act as an ambassador for Paiwand's housing work at events, meetings, and forums. Champion the needs of unaccompanied and vulnerable youth.
Ideal Candidate Profile

Essential:

Professional experience in housing, social housing, homelessness support, or related fields. Knowledge of UK housing law and regulations. Strong strategic and analytical thinking skills. Excellent communication and teamwork abilities. Commitment to Paiwand's mission and values.
Desirable:

Experience working with refugees, asylum seekers, or unaccompanied minors. Previous trustee or board experience. Knowledge of safeguarding and risk management practices in housing contexts.
Time Commitment

Trustees are expected to:

Attend quarterly board meetings (online or in-person) Commit a few additional hours per quarter for strategic input or committee tasks Join an annual away day and participate in other relevant events (AGMs, funder visits, etc.)
