Volunteering Manager

Bangor, Co Down, United Kingdom

Job Description

Are you passionate about the power of volunteering to change lives? Do you want to shape a national programme that helps people with a learning disability live their lives to the full? If so, this could be the perfect next step for you.
Mencap is looking for a Volunteering Manager to lead our volunteering operations across the UK - an exciting and influential role at the heart of our new Volunteering Strategy.
As our Volunteering Manager, you will be the driving force behind volunteering at Mencap. You'll make sure every volunteer has a brilliant experience from the moment they first show interest, and that teams across Mencap have the support, guidance and tools they need to involve volunteers safely, confidently and inclusively.
You'll work with colleagues from a wide range of teams - including retail, fundraising, campaigning, the Mencap Training Academy, and our direct services in homes, supported living and communities - championing the difference volunteers make every day.
You'll also lead and inspire a team of eight Volunteering Coordinators who promote volunteering, recruit and onboard volunteers, and support local teams in delivering an excellent volunteer experience.
This role reports to the Head of Volunteering & Inclusion and plays a key part in making Mencap the best place to work and volunteer for people with a learning disability.
This role is primarily home-based, with some travel across England, Wales and Northern Ireland required, along with occasional evening or weekend work.
