Job Purpose
This is a key role within Benchmark Services and involves the responsibility of ensuring that everything that comes in and out of the warehouses in Huntingdon are operated and managed to a good standard
The Warehouse role is one that requires the ability to manage the stock and the ability to think quickly and decisively and adapt to meet the requirements of the business regarding the items that need to be delivered, collected and stored. You will also be integral to the business meeting our common goals.
Duties & Responsibilities
Daily logistic needs.
Work closely with the Warehouse Manager and admin teams to ensure that all job work paperwork is produced in a timely manner to allow you to work efficiently to prepare the orders each day.
Vigilance is key also in ensuring movement of equipment and materials is done in a way that no damage occurs whilst working in your warehouse.
Maintain control of the warehouse and the people that use it.
Some duties are listed below in more detail and include:
Work closely with the warehouse team and Warehouse Manager.
There may be occasions when you are required to support the logistics team by accompanying drivers to carry out deliveries.
Management Team
Work closely with the Warehouse Manager to ensure large projects are planned and all relevant materials are available
Regular feedback and input will be key in this position to drive change and progress within the warehouse and logistics process.
Ability to make a difference and bring in new ideas that can help smarten our processes, making us of your IT skills. Good use of EXCEL, word and external communications with customers via email.
Operations / maximise productivity & efficiency
Operations strategy is important to our business and as such you will work closely with the Account Managers, Routing Manager and Director of Sales and Operations, giving input and feedback to help improve and shape our processes to be more productive for the benefit of the business.
Key Attributes / Experience / Qualifications
Strong background in communications
Forklift licence/qualifications for two types of electric forklift.
Well organised and self-motivated, with a strong customer focus.
Excellent listening & communication skills both written and verbal.
Team player with the ability to resolve issues.
Ability to develop new ideas.
Good all-round IT skills.
An ability to work well under pressure.
Possess a good sense of humour.
