We are currently looking for a

Weighbridge Operative

to join our friendly team based at Tarmac Langford Sand and Gravel Quarry, Newark. As well as Newark, this site is accessible from Sutton on Trent, Lincoln, Balderton, Canwick, North Hykeham and the surrounding areas.

Main Responsibilities

Reporting directly to the Section Manager the

Weighbridge Operative

will be responsible for the operation of a busy Weighbridge on a day-to-day basis, ensuring that all vehicles entering or leaving the site are within transport weight regulations and accounted for.


Your duties in the role of

Weighbridge Operative

will also include:

Managing all vehicles entering and exiting the site, weighing their load, quality checking and recording data accurately- this will be done on site for Tarmac Langford Sand and GravelQuarry,and you will also manage the weighbridge remotely forWhisbySand and Gravel Quarry. Recording and calculating inputs and outputs, producing weighbridge tickets, and directing all vehicles to the correct area on our site Recording all weighbridge activity correctly, accurately and with highorganisation Carrying out the necessary administrative work to complete the weighbridge processes Liaising with drivers, as they deliver to the site and resolving any issues/problems that occur Liaise with other site team members, keeping a steady flow of traffic moving Liaise with other Weighbridge personnel to ensure that the Weighbridge ismaintainedduring the site's opening hours Answering phone enquiries Dealing with other administrative tasks including raising purchase orders and administering allpurchasingfor bothTarmac Langford Sand and Gravel Quarry andWhisbySand and Gravel Quarry

The Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate for the role of

Weighbridge Operative

will be able to demonstrate proven experience working within an Industrial, Factory or similar environment as an operative or labourer.
Suitable candidates for the role of

Weighbridge Operative

will also possess:

Effective communication skills Desire to develop both operative and supervisory skills Good IT skills with experience in Microsoft packages Knowledge of HGV weight restrictions or flexible to learn Experience in the same or similar role (training will be provided to the successful applicant) Proven ability to be a motivated team player Professional attitude when engaging with all colleagues and contractors
