Overview

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Machinist to join our manufacturing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating and maintaining various machining equipment to produce quality timber moulding and joinery items. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a strong mechanical background and a passion for craftsmanship to contribute to high-quality production processes.

Responsibilities

Set up, operate, and monitor general wood working machines including Spindle moulders, four sided moulders, resaws and multi-rip straight line edge saws Maintain a clean and organised workspace, adhering to safety standards at all times. Collaborate with team members on projects requiring assembly or modification of components.

Skills

Proficiency in grinding, milling, welding, and the use of hand tools and power tools. Strong understanding of CAD software, particularly SolidWorks and general CAD principles. Ability to read technical drawings and perform basic mathematical calculations accurately. Familiarity with assembly procedures and the use of various hand-held or power tools in a workshop environment. Good organisational skills with attention to detail; ability to work independently or as part of a team. Prior experience in machining or manufacturing environments is preferred but not essential; training will be provided where necessary. This role is ideal for motivated individuals eager to develop their skills within a dynamic manufacturing setting while contributing to the production of high-quality components through precise machining techniques.
