Founded in 1979, Patrick Ireland Frames specialises in the design and production of high-end handcrafted picture frames and mirrors. We fabricate bespoke pieces for commercial and residential projects, collaborating with the UK's most influential interior designers, hotel groups, galleries, artists, art curators, and private clients. Our team in East Sussex uses a combination of traditional and modern techniques to create each frame and mirror by hand.

We're entering an exciting new phase of growth and are looking for a driven, detail-focused Woodwork Technician to join our team at this pivotal time.

The Role



We're looking for a skilled craftsperson to produce high-quality, bespoke picture frames and mirrors. This hands-on role involves working with a variety of materials, using both traditional woodworking techniques and modern tools to create custom pieces to exact specifications. There will be occasional travel to client sites to carry out templating and installations. Professionalism, attention to detail, pride in craftsmanship and a passion for precision are key. By working collaboratively with the production and sales teams, you'll bring unique designs to life for clients who value quality and artistry.

Key Responsibilities



Manage all aspects of woodwork production, from material prep to final assembly Work independently and manage multiple projects concurrently Ensure all products are made to the highest standard and within client deadlines Operate and maintain workshop equipment, including: Mitre saws and under pinners (for precision frame making) Table saws, spindle moulders, and CNC router (for shaped and arched frames) Interpret technical and design briefs with precision accuracy Maintain workshop organisation, safety, and material stock levels Work collaboratively with the sales, finishing and fitting teams Uphold and develop the company's commitment to quality and craftsmanship Carry out occasional on-site visits for measuring and installation

About You



Skilled woodworker with five plus years' experience in bespoke or high-end joinery or framing Experience in the framing, decorative arts, or luxury interiors sector Confident using a variety of woodworking machinery, including table saws, mitre saws, under pinners, spindle moulders, and CNC routers Comfortable working independently and taking ownership of workshop operations Practical and well-organised, with strong problem-solving skills Positive, can-do attitude -- solutions-focused and energetic Adaptable and able to manage projects to adjusted client deadlines Detail-oriented and a tidy worker Knowledge of site measuring, installation practices, and client liaison Understanding of finishing techniques, such as stains and polishing
