About the role



An opportunity has arisen within the Advanced Remanufacturing Department for a Workshop Assistant. This entry level position will be based at our facilities in Dyce, Aberdeen. This role involves a variety of tasks to assist workshop processing of gas turbine components.

An overview of your day



Cleaning components using mechanical parts washers & manually degreasing of components. Use of oven to dry components. Preparation of parts using blast cabinets. Operate super polishing machine to achieve the desired smooth finish. Use forklifts / stacker truck to load and unload materials. Ensure that the correct standards of material handling are always observed. Organise own workload whilst ensuring the workshop remains organised and efficient. Maintain good housekeeping in work areas and perform other related or comparable duties as assigned (5's). The successful candidate will work dayshift.

What we need from you



Experience in a similar role or workshop / practical work experience is desirable but not essential, all training will be provided. Mechanical background - desirable. Self-starter with the ability to work with minimal supervision. A good knowledge of HS&E procedures and COSHH assessments. Previous forklift truck experience - desirable, training will be provided. Driving License.
