About the Role:
Working closely with our experienced mechanics, the Workshop Assistant will provide day-to-day support in maintaining our fleet of HGVs and other company vehicles. This is a practical role that includes assisting with vehicle servicing, maintaining a clean and safe workshop, and helping with parts handling and basic mechanical tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
Assisting mechanics with routine maintenance and repairs
Preparing vehicles for inspection
Collecting and organising tools and parts
Keeping the workshop clean, tidy, and well-organised
Conducting basic checks and tasks under supervision
Supporting accurate record-keeping and stock control
Moving vehicles in and out of the workshop as required
What We're Looking For:
A keen interest in mechanics and vehicle maintenance
Practical, can-do attitude and willingness to learn
Ability to work well as part of a team
Reliable and punctual with a good work ethic
Full UK driving licence is desirable but not essential
Previous workshop or mechanical experience is a bonus, but not required
