Global Energy (Group) Ltd are a service focused, performance driven business, offering construction, maintenance and enhancement solutions to a diverse range of energy industry customers. They are currently recruiting a Purchasing Assistant for their South Fabrication Division in Aberdeen to assist the business into future works and technologies.

Hours:

40 Hours per week. However, working flexibility is required.

Job Purpose & Objective

The Workshop Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day function of the workshops and yard team and overall control of all above-mentioned staff and contractors operating in each of these areas. Responsible for ensuring the safety of equipment in operation and that the necessary periodic and statutory inspections required on items of equipment are performed effectively. The Workshop Manager will be coordinating activities by scheduling work assignments, setting priorities and ensuring safe working practices are in place while adhering to company and client procedures. The Workshop Manager must support in the overall delivery of Global Energy Groups business objectives through the aligning of deliverables to that of the individual Business Unit strategy.

Main Responsibilities:

To lead in the development of strategies and processes to ensure that product quality and customer satisfaction are maintained and that there is improvement of products, processes and services as necessary. Maintain records, prepare reports and compose correspondence relative to the work. Identify and be responsible for individual client quality management requirements. Organize and liaise with client inspectors and representatives ensuring requirements are complete for exiting works. Review, revise and issue job packs to the production department ensuring client requirements are verified. Establish a good working relationship with all management and all other staff, support staff and other GEG employees based on site to ensure the efficient running of the facility. Control and issue to subordinate personnel, specifications, procedures and drawings associated with the project. Awareness of project documentation, procedures and processes and adherence to quality plans. Control allocation of Labour, plant, machinery and Consumables to ensure production schedules are adhered to. Management of work, reporting and correction in collaboration with HSEQ and management personnel and non-conformances. Update of weekly progress. Ensure the availability of, and adherence to, any relevant documented quality procedures of work instructions to meet the relevant specifications. Ensure Risk assessments for work activities and identified controls are implemented. Ensure good housekeeping throughout the entire facility. Overall control of all yard activities. Participates to continuous improvement programs. Remains conversant with new industry standards and practices. Respects colleagues, clients and sub-contractors at all levels dealing with any dispute or conflict in a professional and personable manner. Issue P.T.W for all subcontractors working on facility maintenance works. Arrange for all facility maintenance subcontractors and in-house duties to be performed in line with pre- arranged maintenance schedules. Maintain and upload all relevant maintenance records onto IGRIS. Any other duty which, from time to time, may reasonably be required to meet the needs of Global Energy Group and is within the remit of this post.

Experience, Qualification and Attributes:

Mandatory



Minimum of 5 Years' experience within a fabrication role or relevant industry. Possess strong management skills and the ability to review the performance of the team.

Preferred



HNC/ONC in engineering/City and Guilds in related trade or SVQ/NVQ in a related trade. Good working knowledge of industry codes and standards.

Personal Development

Undertake any agreed training to develop personal knowledge and skills required to perform effectively in the team/department/business unit in order to demonstrate and maintain required competency in role. Participate in annual and regular performance appraisal with relevant supervisor and/or manager, identifying and agreeing objectives and targets in relation to personal development.
