An exciting opportunity has arisen for a newly created role as youngstock unit manager on a large-scale high input dairy farming business in northern Cumbria. The farm currently milks in excess of 1700 cows on a 3x per day system. The youngstock unit, a short distance from the dairy, has recently been acquired and will be the base for all offspring post weaning. The farm business has and continues to enjoy ongoing investment and a dedicated youngstock unit marks the next phase of their long-term plans. As youngstock unit manager you will be responsible for the unit and the animals produced within, ensuring the highest standards of health and welfare. YOU will work closely with the owner and excellent herd manager, being part of the senior team YOU WILL be called upon to undertake elements of responsibility on the main unit alongside them.

The successful candidate will have proven record in a similar role with excellent attention to detail, professional record keeping ability and a keen eye for the animals under their care.
