Accountant



Starting salary 39,513 - 42,708 for part qualified CCAB/ CIMA or AAT Qualified, rising to 46,731 for fully qualified CCAB/ CIMA candidates (with further rise subject to agreement of 2025/26 pay award).

Post Covid and through the cost-of- living crisis, the council has focussed on serving our communities, investment, innovation and continues to deliver excellent services to our residents whilst responding positively to the budgetary challenges that the sector faces.



This focus has ensured that the council is in a strong position financially, with a balanced MTFS, and we are now seeking to appoint to an Accountant post within the finance team who will help to ensure that the council's long-term financial health and sustainability is maintained.



The Accountant post forms a key part of the finance team completing the in-year budget monitoring and reporting process and supporting in the annual budget setting process and statement of accounts production.



If you have the skills and experience to provide financial advice and guidance to budget managers whilst supporting the Principal Accountant and Deputy S151 Officer in their role of providing professional financial advice to services, the leadership team, Council and Cabinet, then we would love to hear from you.



This post is career graded meaning that post holders holding a CCAB/ CIMA professional qualification and significant experience will progress to Grade 10 from the Grade 9 baseline for the post.
