We're working with a privately-owned property investment company based in Canary Wharf to recruit an experienced Accountant / Bookkeeper. This is an exciting opportunity to join a small, close-knit team and take ownership of the finance function within a unique residential lettings and property management environment. 
 We're looking for someone with a strong background in residential lettings and property management accounting-someone who enjoys a hands-on, varied role and can bring both accuracy and initiative to the table. 
Key Responsibilities 
 Vendor & Client Management:
 Manage financial transactions with vendors and clients, ensuring accuracy and alignment with contractual obligations. 
 Financial Reporting:
 Prepare timely and accurate financial reports including balance sheets, P&L statements, and cash flow statements. Ensure compliance with accounting standards and relevant legislation. 
 Bookkeeping:
 Maintain accurate financial records including accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and general ledger entries. 
 Internal Controls:
 Establish and maintain effective financial controls to safeguard assets and prevent discrepancies. 
 Audit Support:
 Coordinate and assist with external audits, respond to queries, and implement audit recommendations. 
Compliance:
 Stay current on financial regulations, tax requirements, and best practices; implement necessary changes to ensure ongoing compliance. 
 The idea candidate: 
 Experience in bookkeeping 
 Previous experience within residential lettings or a similar property-based environment. 
 Strong organisational and time management skills. 
 Proficient in Excel (intermediate level required). 
 Able to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a small, dynamic team.
