Accountant

to join our growing team.

Job Summary:

The accountant will be responsible for managing the company's financial records, ensuring accurate and timely reporting, reconciling accounts, processing payments, and supporting the day-to-day financial operations of the travel agency.

Key Responsibilities:

Maintain and update the general ledger and financial records Record daily transactions, including sales, expenses, commissions, and refunds Reconcile bank statements and monitor company cash flow Prepare monthly financial reports, balance sheets, and profit & loss statements Manage accounts payable and receivable Handle payroll and employee expense reports Monitor travel-related vendor accounts (e.g., airlines, hotels, GDS systems) Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning Ensure compliance with tax regulations and prepare VAT returns (where applicable) Coordinate with auditors and external accountants during year-end closing

Requirements:

Proven experience as an Accountant. Degree in Accounting, Finance. Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices. Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Penguin Excellent attention to detail and accuracy Strong organisational and time-management skills Ability to work independently and under pressure Good communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience working in the

travel industry

or with

GDS accounting (e.g., Sabre, Travelport)

Familiarity with multi-currency transactions Knowledge of UK tax and financial reporting standards (if based in the UK)
