Accountant

Southend-on-Sea, Essex

Due to continued expansion, they are now looking for an Accountant to join their team on a full-time, permanent basis, working 37.5 hours per week.

The Role

As an Accountant, you will manage the day-to-day function of our client's Finance Department.

You will oversee all aspects of financial and management reporting, ensuring accurate, timely and compliant information is delivered to senior management. You'll manage ledgers, payments, reconciliations and reporting to maintain the financial health of the business.

At the same time, you'll handle cash flow and payroll, oversee VAT submissions, and support audit preparation, ensuring every financial record is precise, up to date, and aligned with the company's wider operational goals.

Additionally, you will:

- Manage invoice factoring accounts
- Prepare monthly Profit & Loss and Balance Sheet reports
- Liaise with auditors and implement recommendations
- Process payroll as required

About You

To be considered as an Accountant, you will need:

- Formal accounting qualifications
- Experience of purchase and sales ledger management
- Experience working on Sage 50, Sage 200, and Sage 50 Payroll
- Supervisory experience
- Excellent attention to detail
- The ability to analyse accounting reports and procedures
- Competency in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook
