Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced, detail-oriented

Vehicle Trade Accountant

to manage our financial operations and support our next phase of expansion. You will be responsible for day-to-day accounting, stock reconciliation, and providing clear management information to help drive business performance.

Key Responsibilities

Maintain purchase and sales ledgers, process supplier invoices and customer transactions Reconcile bank accounts and vehicle stock funding (VCFs) Prepare monthly management accounts and financial reports for directors Complete VAT returns, payroll preparation, and liaison with HMRC Oversee workshop costing, warranty claim submissions and recharge handling Collaborate with external accountants and finance providers Help develop and refine internal controls, processes, and reporting frameworks

Required Skills & Experience

Proven accounting experience, ideally within the motor trade industry AAT qualification (or equivalent) preferred Proficiency in Excel and cloud-based accounting software (Xero, Sage, etc.) Strong attention to detail, organisation and problem-solving skills Ability to work independently, prioritise tasks and meet deadlines Excellent communication and team-working abilities
