How you'll make a difference:
As an Accountant, you will work with project managers to support the delivery of a number of transport infrastructure projects, helping to ensure that these are delivered on time and on budget. You will provide accurate and timely reporting of the financial elements of the projects, including provision of robust cost forecasts.
What you will be doing:
Acting as a point of contact for financial support, advice and guidance, you will provide pro-active support to project managers.
Monitoring project budgets, you will track and manage project finance, ensuring alignment with approved budgets.
You will prepare timely and accurate financial reports for internal and external stakeholders and will work with the project teams to produce robust cost forecasts.
Conducting variance analysis, it will be your responsibility to identify and explain budget vs actual variances and provide recommendations for corrective actions.
Daily, you will collaborate with project teams and work closely with project managers and construction teams to support financial planning and decision making.
What we need from you:
We require you to hold a recognised CCAB qualification, preferably CIPFA.
You will have experience of project accounting and supporting projects in a fast-moving environment.
Given the elements of the role, you will be able to analyse complex data and provide solutions and recommendations to achieve appropriate outcomes, with the ability to communicate this effectively at all levels.
Ideally, you will have knowledge of Microsoft D365.
You need to have excellent time management skills to prioritise and set appropriate deadlines.
