Overview

This role is essential in managing financial records, supporting office operations, and providing exceptional customer service. The ideal candidate will possess strong computer literacy, office management skills, and experience with various administrative tasks within a practice environment. The candidate should be confident in dealing with client queries, handling calls and liaising with HMRC.

We want our team members to feel comfortable in their role, therefore, familiarity with accounting software and Companies House is crucial to this position. Ideally this role is in person to be the face of the business greeting any visiting clients, but we are happy to consider a hybrid arrangement.

To be considered for this opportunity, you must have a minimum of 12 months experience at a UK accountancy firm. The ideal candidate will also be AAT / ACCA part qualified or fully qualified.

Responsibilities



Perform data entry, invoicing, and bookkeeping tasks accurately and efficiently. Handle front desk duties, including greeting visitors and managing multi-line phone systems. Provide excellent customer service via phone, email, and in-person interactions. Maintain organised filing systems for financial documents, correspondence, and reports. Assist with calendar management, appointment scheduling, and office management tasks. Manage the client life cycle including AML, onboarding, registrations, submissions and reports. Coordinate with team members to ensure timely completion of administrative duties. Including HMRC tax registrations, agent authorisations, CS01 submissions, company formations and secretarial changes. Supporting the wider team with personal tax preparations and payroll cover. Update and manage daily timesheets and client expenses.

Experience



Prior experience in practice is essential to understand daily operations. Experience with clerical tasks such as filing, data entry, and proofreading required. Familiarity with QuickBooks or bookkeeping software highly desirable. Customer service experience, especially in a receptionist or front desk role. Strong computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets), and general computer literacy necessary. User knowledge on TaxCalc practice management would be advantageous. Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively. Demonstrated time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines consistently.

Pay: 26,000.00-38,000.00 per year
