We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accounts Assistant / Bookkeeper to join our finance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for a range of bookkeeping and finance administration tasks, including reconciling supplier statements, processing purchase invoices, preparing payment runs, and supporting the wider finance function with general administrative duties.
Key Responsibilities:
Supplier Statement Reconciliation:
Match supplier statements to accounting records and resolve discrepancies promptly.
Invoice Processing:
Accurately enter purchase invoices into the accounting system, ensuring correct coding and authorisation.
Payment Preparation:
Assist in preparing weekly/monthly supplier payments, ensuring deadlines are met and payments are accurate.
Finance Administration:
Support with general finance admin including filing, responding to supplier queries, and maintaining accurate records. Answering reception calls and assisting in finance administration when required.
Bank Reconciliation:
Assist with reconciling bank transactions and updating ledgers.
Supporting Month-End:
Provide assistance with month-end processes and reporting as needed.
Skills & Experience Required:
Previous experience in a similar Accounts Assistant or Bookkeeping role.
Proficient in accounting software Xero
Strong Excel skills and general computer literacy.
High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
Excellent communication and organisational skills.
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
Desirable:
AAT qualification or working towards (or equivalent).
Experience of working with MRI Property software.
