Job Summary



We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive

Accounts Assistant

to join our dynamic estate and lettings agency team. A key focus of this role will be to

oversee and implement our Late Payment Process

, managing rent arrears and maintaining strong communication with tenants to ensure timely resolution. The ideal candidate will also support broader financial operations including accounts payable and bank reconciliation, helping to maintain accurate and efficient financial systems.

This is a

part-time position

working

4.5 hours per day

, to be completed

anytime between 9:00am and 5:00pm

, Monday to Friday. We offer

flexibility

on when these hours are worked to accommodate other commitments.

Key Responsibilities



Manage the Late Payment Process

, proactively monitoring rent arrears, issuing reminders, and coordinating follow-ups in line with company policy. Liaise with tenants to resolve outstanding payments, maintaining professionalism and tact in all communications. Escalate serious arrears cases to management or legal teams when required, ensuring full documentation is kept. Process supplier invoices and ensure timely payments to contractors, landlords, and other vendors. Accurately input financial data using

Xero

accounting software and maintain up-to-date records. Reconcile bank statements regularly to ensure financial accuracy and completeness. Collaborate with lettings and property management teams to ensure alignment of financial information and tenancy data. Assist with general finance-related queries from tenants, landlords, and colleagues. Identify and support process improvements within the finance function to enhance efficiency and compliance.

Requirements



Proficient in

Xero

accounting software. Relevant

accountancy qualifications

(AAT, ACCA, or equivalent) are preferred. Previous experience in a finance role within a

lettings or property management environment

is desirable. Strong organisational and administrative skills with exceptional attention to detail. Confident communicator with the ability to handle sensitive arrears conversations in a firm but respectful manner. High level of accuracy in data entry and record-keeping. Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Proactive approach to problem-solving and process improvement.
Job Type: Part-time

Pay: 18,720.00 per year

Expected hours: 22.5 per week
