Assistant Greenkeeper

Aberdour Golf Club was formed in 1896 and is a par 67 18-hole course with stunning views over the River Forth to across Edinburgh. The course is situated in the village of Aberdour and is only 6.9 miles from the Queensferry Crossing.

Position:

Assistant Greenkeeper.

Aberdour Golf Course, Fife.

Will be based on skill level, qualifications and experience.

Full time/Permanent.

1/2/26 or sooner if possible.

Aberdour GC require a full-time Greenkeeper to ensure that the course is maintained to the highest standard for its members and visitors. The role is based on a 40-hour week.

Reporting to the Head Greenkeeper & Deputy Head Greenkeeper, the role involves the daily presentation and upkeep of the course along with project work and all other aspects of turf maintenance.

The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic, committed and a team player. You will be joining a professional, motivated team dedicated to the upkeep of the course. Full training where necessary will be given, including fully funded enrolment onto an NVQ level 3 and above in Greenkeeping and Golf Course Management.

The successful candidate requires strong attention to detail, with a focus on helping to develop the course further. They should also have a positive attitude with excellent communication skills and a desire to learn and develop themselves within the role. They should also enjoy working outdoors, even in all weathers, and especially in a team environment.

Minimum of three years of experience in the greenkeeping industry.

NVQ/SVQ Level 2 Greenkeeping or Sports Turf.

A good understanding of/interest in golf.

Previous Greenkeeping/Sportsturf experience.

P.A. 1, P.A. 2 and P.A.6A Certification (Advantageous).

Chainsaw Certification (Advantageous).

Good timekeeping, reliable and a strong work ethic.

Willingness to work flexible hours including early morning hours and weekends.

Carry out routine golf course maintenance duties to a high standard.

Operate a wide range of turf care machinery and equipment safely.

Ensure that all Equipment is maintained, kept clean & stored correctly.

Assist in course preparation for competitions and events.

Undertake renovations and project work as required.

Follow all health and safety procedures at all times.
